The government is there to protect the people from the corporations and the corporations are not people and do not have feelings and have different moral values then humans do and if corporations can make more profit while still playing by the rules they will and it is up to us to change the rules if we think we are being harmed and the government will enforce those rules. Trans fats and High Fructose Corn Syrup have been ban in Europe for years and American restaurants did just fine before the 80s when they started using them. The only reason we see High Fructose corn syrup in almost all foods is because it is a corn product and the corporations get government subsidies.

There is nothing in the Constitution which mentions food, menus, restaurant fare or anything of that nature. The business owner has a right to be in business but he is also subject to state, local, and fedral laws. If those laws have not been found unconstitutional by the Supreme Court there is not case one way or the other.

I wouldn't mind requiring restaurants having to disclose their use of Trans. fat, but I don't think there should be legal bans. No, no, I take a stronger view, get the government out of my eating rights. Aren't there more important things they can worry about?
