1/3 can be taken from 1.5 4 times with a balance of 1/2

Proof: 1.5/ (1/3) = 4.50
therefore 1/3 can be taken from 1.5 , 4 times

Theoretically 1/3 can be taken from 1.5 infinitely many times.
But I think you mean, what is the maximum number of times that 1/3 can be subtracted from 1.5 and still yield a non-negative difference.

1.5=9/6
1/3=2/6

9/6-2/6=7/6
7/6-2/6=5/6
5/6-2/6=3/6
3/6-2/6=1/6

Four Times. Easy peasy!

As a rule 1/3 can be seen as .333 so take 1.5 and divide by .333 = 4.505 depending on the number of decimal places you are allowed to use but some would say that you can take 1/3 from 1.5 as many time as necessary!

If you want a number which is positive, the answer is 4.54555(with the "5" repeating). This is derived bu dividing 1.5 by 1/3. In other words, 1.5/.33333 ad infinitum)

If you don't care if the answer is negative, it can be taken as many times as you like.

wut exactly dyu mean?

if u mean:

1. how many times can we add 1/3 to get 1.5,

= 1.5/(1/3)= 4.5 times

2. how many times can 1.5 be divided by 1/3

= infinite, u can can keep on diving a number from a base number and never reach a negative no, much less 0 or -ve infinity.
