Factor by grouping:

(y^4 - 5y^2) + (3y^3 - 15y)

Factor each group's common factor out:

y^2(y^2-5) + 3y(y^2 - 5)

Now y^2 - 5 is a common factor, so it comes out, leaving you with:

(y^2 - 5)(y^2 + 3y)

Taking y out of the second group, you get

y(y^2 - 5)(y+3), which is choice C.
