Hidden Files Mystery?

well..its something like this.every time i select the option to show hidden files my computer refuses to show it and moreover the pointer leads back 'dont show hidden files'. i formatted my computer thinkin its a virus it didnt suffice.now i m really perplexed and dunno wat can be done??

edit your registry key to show hidden file can function back, every steps are important, don't make any mistake

go to start(menu)->run, then type 'regedit' and press enter

in registry editor, go into console tree(folder)
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\
SOFTWARE\
Microsoft\
Windows\
CurrentVersion\
Explorer\
Advanced\
Folder\
Hidden\
SHOWALL

Delete the value CheckedValue(Type should be REG_SZ and data should be 2)

Create a new DWORD value called CheckedValue (same as above, except that the type is REG_DWORD). Modify the value data to 1 (0x00000001)

you may have some software that is making it reset back to hidden. You could disable one program at a time and restart the computer each time to find the culprit.
