Yes. I am a financial planner. I have to take at least 6 classes and/or seminars per year to keep all my licenses & designations active & compliant.
I really don't mind though. While most of it is superfluous, I do learn new things in the process, and you can't put a price on that!

Seminars, yes. Also have to take yearly classes to retain my certification. Yuck!

Been to a few, usually I hope there is a beach, a pool, or casino nearby. The actual meetings are prime nap time.

Yes, and I take continuing education to keep my license current, although I'm retired.
Keeping my license till i'm 65 at least. I worked too long and hard to get it not to keep it current.

I do and I get magazines to keep up to date. Take online classes. By the way I am a nurse.

nope. mine is a strictly learn as you go job. however, i need to recertify with the state every two years, just like a cop. i'm licensed and bonded and fingerprinted and all that good stuff.
