.
As much as we like to say that "age is just a number," or "you're only as old as you feel," the fact is that at some point, the world considers you to be old, whether you like it or not.

Back in the old days, when companies were allowed to force people to retire, the mandatory retirement age was 65. That used to be pretty old, when the life expectancy was not as long as it is now. There was a backlash, though, and now people can work as long as they like. Heck, even the social security administration doesn't expect people to retire at 65 any more.

Since so many people are working and productive throughout their 60's, I would guess that the beginning of old age is probably 70 now. Maybe I'll feel differently when I'm 70!

This one is a tough answer because , it's all individual. My gramma is 97 and looks 67, and I have seen some 67 years old that "look" 97. LOL I think it's all in how one takes care of themselves and their own thought on age and aging. I remember in my youth a 35 year old was "old" LOL... now I am 43 and I am "young"!!
Have a great one! =)

When you are young, everyone older than you is old. As you get older the age at which you think someone is old increases. For instance, I am 64, I don't think that I am old but to lots of people, I am. I think someone who is 75 is old.

Jayman, in the wake of medical science's giant leaps in the last 20 years, the age when one is considered old has risen to 85. Within 50 years it's apt to be 100, and then... Thanks to science.

You're only as old as you feel I say, but in the U.S, you can retire at 65, and that is the also the age you are allowed to start collecting social security...so i guess that's when the gov't considers them old farts! LOL : )
