Hi everyone,

For all of the women out there who are waiting to take a hpt...

Like you, I get so discouraged when I read about women on these boards who say they have all kinds of pregnancy symptoms only a few days after ovulation.

I recently spoke with a nurse at my doctor's office yesterday about my situation and the possibility of being pregnant. The fact is, MOST WOMEN HAVE NO SYMPTOMS DURING THEIR 2 WW.

I'm not saying that some women don't have sore boobs, etc. early on, but please understand that this is the EXCEPTION and NOT THE RULE. It is important to understand this, and not to get discouraged.

I also recently spoke with 2 friends who are recent mothers of 2 kids, and both of them said they had no symptoms, and had no idea they were pregnant until a few days after their missed periods.

We won't all be successful right away, but I felt better knowing that there is hope, even if you don't feel sick/symptomatic immediately after conception. Thanks.

I am not in the 2ww but I hope you don't mind me answering. I thought you would be interested in hearing my feedback, I am 11 weeks pregnant after ttc for 18 months. I had absolutely no 'normal' signs ie implantation bleeding / spotting, boobs no more sore than usual around PMT time, no nausea etc. However I did have very strange feeling in my teeth and gums not to be confused with metalic taste. I did not take teeth and gums being strange as a sign of pregnancy. So good luck to you all and I hope it happens for you x

i don't believe there is any way for you to have symptoms after ovulation. All that happen is the egg was fertilized, it still has that l-o-n-g 6-12 day trip down the tubes to the uterus. After it implants in the uterus, you may feel symptoms cuz then your hormones get all weird, which is where the symptoms come from. I didn't have any symptoms until around the time of my period and all i had was a strange feeling that something was different and then each week after that i would get another symptom. Some women go for months without knowing they are pregnant. I think that when you want to be pregnant your feel things that you normally wouldn't and if you asked these women that were ttc more than one month they could tell you each and every month that they had symptoms and then turn up not being pregnant. My sister is Fertile-freekin-Mertile and she can tell you she knows exactly when she got pregnant all 4 times but not cuz she felt it after ovulation its cuz around her period time her boobs were more sore - that was her only symptom before her period is due and that was only a day or before she was due.
PLUS, women get pregnant every day and miscarry all the time and NEVER know it cuz they miscarry before there period is due and they figure that the period is just a few days early and heavier - my doc tells me that it happens all the time, its just part of life. That egg was fertilized but never made it any farther so if you know right after conception then how depressing would it be to miscarry?!?!

I feel the same way. Today I am 13dpo, so I only have 1 more day to wait and I have scanned all the early signs on www.twoweekwait.com many times. I've been pregnant once before, and I had the same exact symptoms that I usually do right before a period, and all the symptoms that women are listing are the same as PMS. Also, implantation doesn't take place until 6-12 days past ovulation, so you wouldn't have any symptoms before that anyways.
