Gotta love those CBR's! I have a track bike just like that, but I'm lucky enough to have a good "pit crew" to fix all the little kinks... Have you checked the fuel lines?!

Yep! But like the other answers, check the basics first.

I had the same problem but first you need to answer this first.
When was the last time you had a major service? ie: valve clearances!

Like me, I had them done at a so called reputable dealer and after 1500 odd kms my bike wouldn't start!

I had exactly the same symptoms as you did.

If you can do it yourself, check your valve clearances, you can almost guarantee that it will be your valve clearances.

Say everything is fine! But your engine is not firing. Your valve clearances are that tight or not even set properly therefore your cam lobes are still riding on your followers or buckets.

Basically the valves are cracked slightly on the valve seats and you aren't compressing the fuel air mixture into a gas.

This may not have been as noticeable when riding previously because the engine would have been warm enough and some parts would have expanded and combustion might have been easier due to a warm engine.

I had the same problem and notice my engine would start but it took a little effort with the throttle!

So give it a try, and if you run your engine hard you might want to get your valves checked every 5000kms.

i had the same exact bike as you a few years ago, and one day it just didnt start. It turned out to be the plugs. Using the choke for too long or letting the bike be exposed to the weather (humidity then cool nights etc.) can cause this. Forget about changing the plugs yourself. its a pain in the rear. You will have to take off the side fairings back to the tail light, the seat, the gas tank, the ignition coils, and then its very hard to get down into the spark plug wells. just take it somewhere and get a tune up, the will change the plugs.

Check/change the spark plugs.
Sport bikes won't start/run with fouled plugs.
Then check/clean the carbs.

check your air filter. a cold motor will run with restricted air but once it warms up it needs air and if your air filter is clogged it wont run.

good luck
