Leno was making jokes about the "Sleep Over" at the Senate, and Mathews started to get upset. So Chris actually said this about Bush: "It is time we Journalists, quit being so Objective about reporting the news, and take the Gloves off".
I thought it was a Journalists job to BE objective when reporting the news?
This is not a comparison with Rush or anyone else.
But does that statement seem odd or scary to anyone else?

Debra...I have no problems with "Take the Gloves off". Thats good. It's the "We need to quit being objective" when reporting the news. Isn't that what Dan Rather and his phony "Papers" did?

No it does not seem odd or scary.. for the first time, I have to say I respect Matthews.

He is absolutely right.. gloves off.. and the media.. all the media better start telling us the whole truth. We could find ourselves embroiled in yet another Bush war.. Iran.. an still not really know why.

A journalist job is to tell it like it is.. not how they personally see it.. not how they are told to see it.. but how it is.

I hope he means what he says.. and I hope other journalist and media follow him.

Rush and Hannity are not journalists and never claim to be.

CNN, ABC News, CBS News, etc are supposed to be unbiased and are not.

If "take the gloves off" means ask tough questions, I see no problem with that. But if they take news facts and try to build a "story" out of it, it ceases being news.

yes. he comes out as a journalist, but he has always been a democrat. he lied about reason Bush got us into Iraq.
then he said Bush talks to god.

he said it would take guts for Hillary to make Obama v.p.
he is her only choice. no Obama no black vote.
no black vote dems can't win.

Mr. Mathews exaggerates greatly if he calls himself a journalist. He is a talking head. All of his shows are full of left wing liberal bias. He gags me with his comments.

No. I went to sleep after Jay's monologue, but this statement does not surprise me.

Chris Matthews is a bleeding heart liberal through and through.
