All they have to hurl at him is his approval rating. It's funny some people have nothing more intelligent and more well thought out to criticize Bush with than his approval rating, which is all you hear about in the news, nowadays.

If you look at the approval of Congress by individual Party you will see that Democrats in congress(31) poll 10 points higher in approval than Republicans(21). Some polls show even higher numbers for Dems.
So the next election should raise the average a bit. Statistically speaking.

This will be the last time I explain that poll numbers for Congress are just really very lame indicators of approval.
I've answered before that poll numbers for Congress as a branch are completely ridiculous because of the multifaceted nature of the institution. The fact is that at most Americans selected 3 out of 435 members of the body. That makes it very difficult to ask them about the body as a whole. In contrast, every American that voted thinks they had a say in the election of the entire President.
The fact is that American's typically show large confidence and approval of THEIR representatives. Remember there is a 94% incumbancy rate for members of the House and Senate. Harry Reid was elected with a commanding 61% in his home state of Nevada (a red state). In addition, even when national polls are done by listing specific representatives, the results vary greatly. A Roper poll from May 2007 showed that 48% of Americans felt that Harry Reid was a reliable source for insights into Iraq.
I argue, as an answer to this question, that American confidence in Congress, as a branch, will always be low. However, this is a statistical annomoly that tells us very little. Here's some historical context:
1991- 11% of Americans have a great deal or a lot of confidence in Congress (Dems).
1992- 11% of Americans have a great deal or a lot of confidence in Congress (Dems) (and yet Dems win the 92 Congressional elections)
1993- 9% of Americans have a great deal or a lot of confidence in Congress (Dems)
1995- 17% of Americans have a great deal or a lot of confidence in Congress (Repubs)
1996- 14% of Americans have a great deal or a lot of confidence in Congress (Repubs) (and yet Repubs win the 96 Congressional elections)
1999- 22% of Americans have a great deal or a lot of confidence in Congress (Repubs)
2002- 19% of Americans have a great deal of confidence in congress. (Split)
2006- 6% of Americans have a great deal of confidence in Congress. (Repubs)
Now, these move from a low of 6 to a high of 22% confidence. Pretty horrendous. However, despite this, there was still a high incumbancy rate over this time. We shouldn't be suprised by low confidence in Congress. It has always been there and will always be there.

I am not a Democrat and I don't like Bush... I also don't like Congress but I am more worried with Bush being the president. He is a terrible leader and his position, the presidency, is more powerful than a handful of senators.
If you are trying to compare a senator to a president then you are comparing an orange to an apple. The president is elected by the whole of America and senators are elected by people in their individual districts... we can disapprove of senators that we don't elect but every one elects a president.
Also, you are deluding yourself if you think ONLY Democrats hate this president. I have voted for many Republicans, I just don't like this one.

Don't know why that keep doing it probably because the like to push the buttons of liberals and conservatives. I know a lot people don't like Bush as it right now, however I would feel a lot better if they would were actually doing something in congress besides complaining.

Half the Congressional ratings belong to the republicans (congress is still about 50-50)
All the presidential rating belong to Bush.
The bad ratings on Democratic in congress are a result of them not putting Bush in jail yet.

OK, where to start here. First off, I believe they keep telling us that the public hates Pres Bush so that Hillary has a better chance in 2008. They want to control everything from your children to your money. The best way for Liberal Dems to get control of you, is to first convince you that everything right now is horribly wrong! The Republicans are polluting your air and water, killing our soldiers, destroying our health care, destroying our educational system, and so on. If you listen to all of the liberal rhetoric, then we are all living in constant fear!! Everything is in crisis and there is nothing good anymore to be proud of. I am so done with all of their lies!! It is time for the American people to stand up and start fighting for the truth!! There is a truth about about all of the great things we are really doing in Iraq, but you never hear about it! Our planet is not in crisis, second hand smoke only kills when it is mixed with other gases and chemicals (though I do believe the smoking is bad for your health), spanking (not beating them bloody just to clarify) your kids does teach them to be repsonsible, sin taxes on things like alcohol and tobacco should be outlawed because it is taxation without representation and against our constitution, universal health care is not the answer, health insurance reform is the answer and stop feeding the pharmacuetical monster, the powers of Hollywood are really ignorant!, the new world order should be outlawed, there should NEVER be a fairness doctrine, stop banning everything from smoking to books, because we are smart enough to govern ourselves and it infringes on our rights (our right to free enterprise and freedom of speech), term limits are a good thing, campaign finance reform is also a good thing (why would anyone pay over a 100 million dollars to get a job that pays only $400,000 a year unless it is to gain control), who cares what other countries pay for gasoline and oil as long as we pay less, LESS government control is a good thing, less taxes is a good thing, trickle down economics works!, liberals are fear mongers, freedom should be cherished and protected, schools need to get back to the basics of reading, writing, and arithmatics and stay out of politics, the Clintons should have gone to prison for murder, because of the Clintons, India is taking all of our jobs, immigration needs to be better controlled, and have I covered everything? I am sure that I have not. But the truth of the matter remains, it is not just Democrats, I hope that there are still some good ones out there. Liberals are the problem!! They are communists, socialists, and fascists! The only thing Nancy Pelosi has done since becomming Speaker of the House is whine and spend our tax money on trips she shouldn't even be taking!! It is time to shut down the liberal machine and open up the truth! The reason why Dems keep telling us how much the public hates Pres Bush is simply because they want us to vote for them instead! Figures lie and Liars figure!! God Bless!
