kick a** band, far from a one hit wonder (as someone stated up above) Sweet Home Alabama wasn't their only hit. You should listen to Freebird and Gimme Three Steps, awesome songs from an all time classic band. They are definitely legends in rock.

They're a great band and definitely not a one hit wonder. Most people just tend to think of Sweet Home Alabama but what about Freebird, Saturday Night Special, Gimme Three Steps - to name just a few.

I have them on my iPod and listen to them quite often.

When I was younger I used not like them. Now, I think they're pretty awesome and that I just wasn't ready for them before. Songs like Tuesday's Gone, Gimme Back My Bullets, and Swamp Music are classics and rank right up there with some Stones tunes in terms of dirty rock classics.

Yeah I like Southern Rock at times, Skynyrd, Allman Brothers, CDB, but I like all kinds of music. Was a shame about the plane crash, those guys were really good.

In the south and parts of the midwest, Skynyrd are still very popular. I hear them on the radio on a regular basis.

i think "8 mile" is one of the many films that revived lynyrd skynyrd's popularity, when eminem sang "sweet home alabama" and the song has been used in countless films and tv programmes, it remains one of the greatest country rock bands ever, and long may it's music last.
