I have a few west facing windows and although I have good shade trees on the west side of the house, a few of them are unshaded and let in a great deal of heat. Anyone know a good pull down shade I can install that will actually reflect the heat?

I have micro blinds that I got from Pella. They have a platinum heat reflective coating. They work real well.

I don't think you can reflect heat ... unless you shade the window from outside the house. Once the sunlight hits the window heat will transfer to the glass. What you're doing is minimizing heat transfer to the room, blinds, sheers and curtains (basically any window treatment) cuts down on the amount of heat brought into the room. Carol Wright sells a solar reflective curtain (supposedly reflects the sunlight and minimizes heat transfer) for under 10 dollars. I don't know how well it works but it does allow you to look out and has a reflective property when looking into the window from outside.
Also says it helps maintain heat loss during winter. But you know sometimes ads exaggerate! Good luck.

Check the online catalogue of http://www.Domestications.com - they have every kind of blind, including reflective & heat-shielding types. If online catalogue doesn't show any, use their order blank on the site to get a hard copy of most recent one.

any type of old fashioned roller shades should work.
Stick with a light color though...
Dark colors attract the heat and sun.
