Shane Warne, a great leg spinner and presently leading wicket taker. Murali, an off spinner catching up fast with Warne. I would vote for Murali as the better bowler for the simple reason, he does not sledge either when bowling or taking wickets unlike Warne.

Both are all time great bowlers. But I put Warne in front of Murali. Because of following reasons.
1. Warne frequently bowl in Australian or England pitches. Those are not good for the spinners.
2. Australia had so many wicket-taking bowlers like Mcgrath, Gillepsie, Lee, Kasprowikz. Therefore, when Warne comes to bowl he had not long time to bowl.
But I never underestimate Murali’s Magics. He is an unbelievable bowler. Greatest off spinner ever. His statistics are far better than Warne.

Muttiah Muralitharan can get any batsman out while Shane Warne's specialty lies in being able to clean up the tail enders.
So in my Opinion, Muttiah Muralitharan!!!

Muralitharan is the better bowler as compared to Warne due to following reasons:
1) Murali has taken 700 test wickets in less number of test
matches as compared to Warne.
2) Murali has got better economy rate.
3) Murali has been performing well in ODI also whereas
Warne has not been much successful in ODI as
compared to Murali.

hmm,,, why everyone repeats a same question?
obviously Muttiah Muralitharan in my view is better....
Muttiah Muralitharan (born April 17, 1972 in Kandy, Sri Lanka), often referred to simply as Murali, is a Sri Lankan cricketer who is generally regarded as one of the greatest bowlers in cricket history.[1] His unique bowling action coupled with his ability to amass wickets has made him one of the most famous cricketers of modern times. He currently lies second in the list of all time wicket takers in both Test cricket and One-Day International cricket.[2][3]. He has signed as an overseas player for Lancashire in 2007.
However, Muralitharan's career has not been without controversy, with the legality of his bowling action being called into question, although he has been cleared by numerous scientific studies.
Career
Since his debut in 1992, Muralitharan has taken over 600 Test wickets and over 400 One-Day International wickets, and was the first player to take 1,000 wickets combined in the two main forms of international cricket. Currently his Test average is 21.73, which compares favourably with other contemporary spin bowlers like Australian leg spinner Shane Warne (25.41) and Indian leg spinner Anil Kumble (28.65). In 2002, Wisden carried out a statistical analysis of all Test matches in an effort to rate the greatest cricketers in history, and Muralitharan was ranked as the best bowler of all time.[4][5][1] However, two years earlier, Muralitharan was not named as one of the five Wisden Cricketers of the Century. Recently, Wisden named him the "Leading Cricketer in the World in 2006".[6]
Muralitharan's unique bowling action begins with a short run-up, and culminates with an extremely wristy release which had him mistaken for a leg-spinner early in his career by Allan Border.[7] Aside from his off break, he also bowls a fast topspinner which goes straight on. He is also a master of the doosra, the surprise delivery which turns from leg to off with no discernible change of action.
In May 2004, he overtook West Indian Courtney Walsh's record of 519 Test match wickets to become the highest wicket-taker, a record he kept until Shane Warne claimed it in late 2004 after he came back from a one-year ban and an injury forced Muralitharan to miss a considerable number of matches. However, Warne believes that the younger Muralitharan will eventually be the one to finish with the record, saying he believes that Muralitharan will take "1,000 wickets" before he retires.[8] Former record holder Courtney Walsh has also opined that this is possible if Muralitharan retains his hunger for wickets.[9] Muralitharan himself believes there is a possibility that he will reach this milestone. He is the only bowler to have taken five wicket hauls against every other test playing nation.[10] Former Australian captain Steve Waugh called him "the Don Bradman of bowling".[11]

no doubt shane for leg spin is always a difficult art and he has a clean action unlike murali.Watching shane bowl those ripping deliveries gives a lot more joy than murali.Murali might break every record in the book but shane will always remain the better bowler of the two.
