What What
LOL
So you went the retrospective philosophical route on this question eh?
LOL
I am sure that just about everyone who answers this question will give you suggestions from an introspective view point - sorry to say - but philosophically that would be wrong - in dong such you will question yourself but never find the answer - why - because the answer is in the reciever of your actions
You dont act upon yourself - well - at least Ihope you dont - in normal situations - you interact with others - they are the recievers of your behaviors - you need to see what they see inorder to see what you want to see - as such - reflect upon their behaviors around you and you will see what they think of you
Heres why - when they interact with you - they think they are doing the thinigs according to the way you want them done - their behaviors comform to you and yours to them - if you watch their behaviors they are reflecting to you what the "see" in you
If you dont like their behaviors - then you know what you need to change in yourself - thus - defeating your current self and growing into a new being
Each interaction, each change that occurs - all build a new you - you pick and choose what you want to change and what you want to keep the same - as such - you define yourself - you are in control of yourself and your desitny
And yes - that includes the simple act of your reading this response and deciding whether you think its right or a bunch of garbage - your interaction - your growth - your destiny - your life - enjoy

Your question should have stated, "I am my own worst enemy, how can I better defeat myself?". Start by making friends with yourself and then learn to love who and what you are. If there are some rough spots, smooth them up and make them better. Remove defeat from your vocabulary and replace it with winning. Life is a banquet my friend, stop starving. Grab a big spoon and dig in. Blessings on you.

We need to defeat the enemy within us and that is a victory for us. All we need to do is to have control over our mind.... we know what is right and what is wrong... it is just that we are unable to control our mind to shun the wrong and hold on to the right in a steadfast manner.
Controlling the mind is really an act of reining in our ego.... the only way that is possible is through inculcating wisdom and constant application of it, especially with an eye to the mischievous and veiled designs of our ego. To that extent, yes, we need to defeat our "I".

Our selves are always our worst enemies, but this only happens when we don't know our selves. Don't you think it's horrible not knowing who you are? You can't defeat your self but you can defeat the feeling of not liking him.Live your life together with your self, you have to know him and accept him, this is a step closer to happiness....

Alexander King entitled his autobiography (a good read, by the way): "Mine Enemy Grows Older." That was his answer. Hang in there and learn by your experience.

i AM the strongest opponent that I'll ever encounter. Its almost like having multiple personalities. my approach to this dynamic challenge is to learn me. I observe how i am. as unbiasedly as possible. i find my flaws (usually the hard way) and i focus on correcting them. i strategize on future situations and how to best react if they do actually occur.
i accept that i will *** up. that i think is the key for me. so, i have a mess. how do i clean it up? its a constant revision of SELF.

Destroy the idea of the imagined individual entity called 'myself'. It is only a collection of flawed memories anyway.

You can never defeat yourself whatever you do. Because yourself is yourself and no one could be the winner or looser.
