I don't think you are paranoid.
It could very well be possible that his family is not accepting his lifestyle and can easily see the relationship of you and him. They probably talk about the 2 of you alot (and in front of his baby sister). Perhaps they see you as the one who "turned him gay".
I think you should talk to him at some point about this - at least to get it off your chest. He may not be as willing to discuss it with you (or his family).
EDIT: Somehow I don't think you will be able to get them to like you. You would think that after 6 years they would at least accept you rather than just tolerating you (barely). I still get the feeling that they don't like his being gay. It may indeed come down to his having to chose between you and his family. I'd hate to be in his place when that happens.

from what i gather, you are a gay couple? if you are, then you have to understand that people are still trying to understand the concept of gay marriage and is still not widely accepted. the family will show hostility towards you not because of your personality or attitude towards them but because you're homosexual. it will be a struggle and no one can say until how long it would last. much as i wanted to tell you to hang in there, it is your life and a human being can only tolerate as much hurt and pain as one can. ask yourself this, can you stay and fight or do u want to pack your bags and go? whichever path you take, hurt will follow whether you like it or not. if you stay, you'll be happy with him but for how long, no one can say. if you go and start anew, you will be devastated and hurt deeply but even the deepest of wounds have a tendency to heal eventually. trust yourself and do what you think is best. all i can do from my side is say a little prayer of strength for you.

Parents have a way of knowing their children even if they don't want to believe it. So in the back of their minds they probably know about ya and don't like it and lets you know by giving you those looks.

Tell him then - you need to be honest with your partner - You say you've been together for 6 years - and his family dont know you're together!?
I think you both need to sit and talk to each other - and be honest!
Good luck x

if your partner has not 'come out' to his family you are a problem to their family. sorry to be so blunt, but i don't know how to say it and be nice.
i had a girlfriend for 4 years. my family knew she was my GIRLFRIEND not girl friend. they absolutely love her. they didn't before they knew, though.
oh, she is the epitome of lesbian; i'm not.

Babies cry, it is what they do. You sound insecure and a little paranoid. I would stop worrying about it.
