No - if you think about it there is more metal in your watch or maybe the coins in your wallet/purse adding a tongue ring is not going to add to this - if you are worried about this then Im thinking a tongue ring might not be for you - no point going around worrying all the time about something that has a low chance of happening anyway.

I actually saw this done on Mythbusters on TV. Having the tongue ring does not make you more likely to be struck by lighting.

I don't think a tongue ring will do it, but I've heard news reports lately that carrying an iPod outside in a thunderstorm can.

Only if it has a long metal rod sticking up out of your mouth. If not, probably no worse than a belt buckle, earrings, or other metal objects.

think about it, the lightning would strike the highest thing around, if your in the middle of the desert and lightning strikes and your on your own thy your gonna get hit either way!! if your with someone then its still a 50/50 chance!
