Call their customer service number and tell them what happened. They might send out a crew to clean it up, but most likely not if you don't make a little noise. If they do send a crew, have some cold water bottles on hand to show your appreciation.

The electric company and the firefighters cut down a tree which landed in your yard? Usually, in this situation, the electric company, or your city, has a contract with a tree-cutting and tree-removal service to clean up after them.
You may need to contact the electric company, then your City Hall, to find this out. If there was a storm and there is much cleaning up to do in other areas, it may take a few days.

Below is the common answer for most utility services. Check online for yours and their debris policy.
...............................................................
Just to give you an example; my tree blew over into the neighbors yard and did minor damage to the fence.....it was MY responsibility to clean it up and make the repairs to the fence.
...............BY THE SAME TOKEN ..............
It is YOUR neighbors responsibility. You can do this, turn it into your homeowners insurance and let them collect from your neighbor.
.....................................................................
........................OR..............................
Promote good will and just speak to your neighbor about the mess and tell him/her it is a hazard and you would be much appreciative of quick clean up. Most neighbors are know what their responsibilities are and if they don't then they are just kidding themselves and no one else.

What is the policy on cleaning up debris from tree work?
http://www.midamericanenergy.com/html/environment4g2.asp
During regular maintenance pruning, crews will remove all debris. The mulch (wood chips) and any wood is left if you request it.
For a regular maintenance tree removal, the brush is chipped, the wood is cut to manageable lengths for your use or disposal, and the stump is cut as close to the ground as possible and treated to prevent regrowth.
If dead or dying trees are removed, the tree is put on the ground and all debris is left.

You do it, or have someone do it and send them the bill, say 50 dollars an hour. Cord pile the wood and have them deduct power consumption for a return on alternate source of energy ( they were to research through tax breaks from the government ) The system grid works, but at a very wasteful distribution of power. With our state of art, we would all be power independant by now if the government really was for the people.
