there are two common causes of that code beyond a leaking fuel cap on the CRV. The first is a failure of the one-way check valve on the EVAP system. Its a fairly common and inexpensive replacement. when the valve fails the vapors can leak back through the check valve and cause the code for he evap small leak P1457. That's the first thing I would check and replace.

secondly , honda had a service bulletin on the evap bypass solenoid failure due to internal corrosion that would cause this problem. It particularly affected vehicles in the Northeast where salt is used on the roads in the winter. I've not run across this because I live in Southern California, but if you're in the Northeast or Northern US then the EVAP bypass solenoid valve is a definite possibility.

My suggestion is to take the car to a Honda dealer for diagnosis if you're unsure of where to look for the check valve and most certainly take it to them if you live in the NE area where the bypass solenoid valve could be at fault.

hope that helps

Some times it has to do with the gasket around the fuel injection area. You have to be careful when filling the gas tank that the gasket where the nozzle head enters the gas line does not get out of alignment or it will cause the light to come on. You can fix it yourself or take it to a dealer, they can quickly fix it at little or no charge.

ur vehicle is costantly being monitored by the ECU. so if the engine check light is on, it means ur ECU has detected a fault in ur vehicle. have it send to ur agent to have the certified mechanic have a complete check.
