Broadband or dial up?

It really depends on what you want to use the internet for. If your intentions are just to surf the net, send & receive emails, then dial-up will probably be your best route, since it's less expensive. I believe NetZero offers pretty competitive rates.

But if you plan on downloading files, uploading videos and hanging out on youtube, or watching videos in general online, you might consider going highspeed. Personally, I'm a bigger fan of highspeed cable, versus DSL, and where I live, highspeed cable is cheaper than DSL...

Dial up is musch cheaper than broadband, if price is your main concern. (And it unfortunatly is for many seniors). However it is much slower then broadband, and ties up the phone whenever you are on line.

If all you do is check e-mail a couple times a week, then dial up will do it. If you actual use the Internet frequently, broadband is better.
