Life around us is Wonderful! Super Spectacular!

Three weeks ago the son of my friend was in a one car accident. His car rolled on the freeway. The young man was sent to the hospital with a broken neck. The surgeons say it was broken in "the worst possible place". They operated on him, and wanted to do a second operation, but could not because he was not stable enough to withstand it. He was put in a "halo" to stabilize his neck. He had a feeding tube down his throat, and was on a ventilator to aid his breathing. You say "How is that Wonderful?"

Well........After three weeks in ICU this young man is now breathing on his own, has had the feeding tube removed, and is in a rehabilitation hospital in our city. He now has feeling in ALL of his limbs. His muscles are weak, but he is responding beautifully. He can lift his legs and arms off the bed and is now involved in 6 hour physical therapy sessions.

Every day he gets stronger and stronger. Our God Lives! He is the healer and deliverer. We praise Him in the darkness, and he brings us into the light! Praise his holy name!

I am near Elkhart Indiana. Gas prices are really high so RV sales are down. When people don't purchase recreational Vehicles our economy sucks. Unemployment is high and political neardewells are higher. Crimes is up and so is inflation. Manners have seemingly gone out of style and smoking is back envogue with the younger generation. Churches are seeing congregations grow smaller, and their are more unwed mothers than ever before. We are fighting a war that we need not be in, and even if we do win we will still have lost. Our President is an embarrasment to himself let alone the rest of the nation. Our population is focused on sex, sex offenders, retaliating against sex offenders, labelling predators, porno sites, and reality tv.

You ask "how is life around you"?

It is a sad twisted wicked world and I for one am glad I am on the last half instead of the first.

My life is pretty hectic. I have a blind husband named David. Triplets named Heather, Melanie, and David. I'm busy with my Navy career and family. I have maybe, maybe 3 hours of sleep. I'm up all hours of the night feeding and changing babies. David is a hands on dad. So he has no problem changing diapers. Our day starts at 04:30 am and ends at 22:00 (10:00) Vacation time? Never took one. Honeymoon? Got deployed after we got married. We both did. David lost his sight in a Jet air crash. Now he works to help injured vets who are blind.
