Four processes (1) Mastication-grinding the food to a smooth paste by teeth in Saliva. This is toincrease the surface area of food to the exposure of enzymes. The salivary Amulas partially break complex carbohydrates like starch to maltose and glucose(2)Digestion:- Complex molecules broken down to simpler molecules in stomach and small and large intestine.Amylase breaks starch to Erythro dextrin,Achroodextrin,Maltoodextrine, Maltose and glucose--proteins are digestedby pepsin, trypsin, chymotrypsin to amino acids--(3) Absorption:-the micro molecules entering into blood stream from villi of intesstine-if against concentration gradient by "Active transport-ATP required.(4) Assimilation:-The absorbed Chyle reaching Liver by portal circulation where the food chemicals are convertedto body chemicals-it is an elaborate discussion

The food you swallow is made up of very large molecules. These molecules must be able to travel through the walls of your small intestine, enter your blood stream, and get into varoius cells in your body, where they undergo chemical reactions that produce energy (called cellular respiration).
After eating, these molecules are too large to cross a cell membrane, so they must be broken down by enzymes. Since this breaking down results in new smaller molecules, the processes are chemical reactions.

Chewing, part of digestion is physical. so is peristalsis
Enzymes breaking down the chemical components of food is chemical. Chemical bonds are broken as the food is reduced to molecular size that can be absorbed by the body.

For your body to be able to absorb food it should be broken down to it's smallest absorble from = that can only be done through chemical processes. It's important to remember that these pieces should be able to pass through a vein into surrounding tissue in order to get "fuel" to a celll to be able to function and in turn dispose of "garbage" made by each cel. The way these food particles move is basically by a difference in duffisie (from a high concentration to a lower concentration) gradient and pressure.

the acceptable answer is hydrolysis you're speaking of dwelling organisms ability the two flowers and animals flowers do not digest yet photosynthesize there food in ordinary terms green flowers photosynthesize and not others subsequently b and d are incorrect all organisms respire however the approach occuring at mitochondria is composed of breakdown of cytochromes and different molecules by making use of hydrolysis subsequently 'hydrolysis' is the backside of the approach which yields power to be utilised by making use of cells hence ,i assume that the respond is C. HYDROLYSIS

Because food is complicated, complex stuff. You need more than one reaction to take it apart into stuff that your body can use to build equally complex things back up.
