I know I am!

Sure am, even though I've given up on the films.

When I shared a house with my friend, I would read them to her young sons, so I got in to them right from before they became the huge hit they now are.

I don't think they're incredibly well-written and it told mostly on Goblet Of Fire which had some appalling mistakes, but I blame the publisher for that as they were pressing JK to get the next book out too quickly, rather than letting her get on with it at her own natural pace. But as a source of fun and adventure, they are unbeatable. And - as a woman - I admire her greatly because she took on the established male writers and beat them. She makes many people - kids and grown ups - happy with her books and it has made her very deservedly rich and famous. She also did something that was long overdue ... she created a new British iconic hero in Harry - possibly the first world-wide British icon since James Bond or The Beatles. When you can ask a kid in Japan or America who they would most like to be like, and they say Harry or Hermione, then you know something important has been created.

J K Rowling OBE - what do you think?

Oh, yes! I'm going to the party at Borders tomorrow night, dressed in my ritual robes and cloak, and at midnight I will be standing in line to buy my copy of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows." I doubt whether I will sleep much until I have read it all the way through.

I'm counting the mins till the book is out so I can finally get my hands on it!!! I'm gonna hold it, kiss it, smell it's pages and call it my precious but I'm not gonna start reading it b4 Xmas... It's my personal ritual lol! I realise I'm a freak but I don't care one bit! It takes a lot of self discipline to have the book and not read it tho... I'll tell you that much!

nope. i hate harry potter and the books have grown stupidly long. they're just long for the sake of being long, not because theres actually a lot to fit in there. if i could i'd ask JK Rowling to do my ICT coursework for me because we have to drone on about it and pad it out a lot. she isn't much of a writer but she'd make a fantastic ict gcse student.
i have nothing against books that actually have to be long but why waste trees on unneseccary paper that we could do without. especially if it's harry potter. i am a big reader, favourites include adrian mole, old classics (e.g jayne eyre, tess of the d'urbevilles) etc but harry potter is for people who want for a life more interesting

I'm going to listen to the audio version. I like it much better than reading books on paper.
