You need to be more specific. Make of car, year, model and engine.
Generally speaking the ignition wires start at the coils in newer cars or distributors in cars and trucks 8 -12 yrs. and older. The wires vary in length and carry high 40.000 - 60,000 volts to the spark plugs.
In many newer cars individual coils are mounted on the valve covers and short 4 - 6 in. ignition wires lead to the spark plugs.
Occasionally you may find coil packs that snap directly on the end of the plugs. On top of the individual coils you will see two small 18 gage wires that supply the coils with low voltage current. The object of these two designs is to either do away with the high voltage wires or shorten them so high voltage will not be lost to a ground.

There's your sign! You did not really ask that? From the coil to the distributor and then to the plugs. New cars might just have wires or no wires at all direct ingnition. Year Make model what engine and how many miles

You may need to clarify your question.
did you pull all the wires off? and now you don't know the firing order?
Then you will have to give us the make of vehicle, the model,
the year, and hopefully the type of engine equiped, no. of cylinders and so forth.
