I've been to some internet forums such as the ones at IMDb and noticed that whenever a movie is being regarded highly and the so-called 'experts' think it doesn't deserve its praise they do whatever they can to force the fans into thinking it's a bad movie. This often happens when they discuss movies that are animated or thoroughly entertaining (contain lots of action, special effects etc.) It mostly happens when discussing movies that are on the top 250. Anyone find it really frustrating when someone constructively tries to tell you that your favorite film is no good by making themselves sound intelligent? Really, in the end it's about whether the film works for you or not.

i think of The Church have been between the Seminal Indie bands of the 1980's. yet i might in no way attempt to introduce a man or woman to them applying city... in certainty...I do have confidence the band's maximum suitable pastimes might desire to be served by way of melting down each and every reproduction of the album it particularly is from Gold Afternoon restoration...and forgetting it ever got here approximately. i might want to think of of it as protecting their legacy...particularly than outright dishonesty.

Not really.
don't get me wrong, it is aggravating, but in the end if someone is going to be so bull headed that they can't at least understand why you like it, then your just wasting your time talking to them about it.

I personally don't have a SINGLE favorite movie.... there's way too much incredible cinema out there. but for example, if someone is going to honestly sit there and tell me "Shooter" w/ Mark walburg, or "trainspotting" (the one about the UK kids doing heroin) are utterly pieces of crap then i usually can't find enough respect for them, or time for their conversation.

well, it's just how the mind works I guess. Everyone is different. Some people are like that, just ignore them and think for yourself. You can always even argue back.

YES! People don't understand "opinions" belong to the owner, really. I love art and I also love foreign films, so I know JUST what you mean! Great question and observance.

My friend tried to tell me that Monty Python sucked... she didn't even watch their best one!! god, she watched 'Meaning of Life' and said it sucked... it isn't their best one but it pissed me off so much coz she's so god-damned arrogant and refuses to watch one of Monty Python's better movies...

i hate it when the person says "oh, that's crap" but in reality they don't get it, they don't understand what that movie is really about
