Honestly, are these people promoting MLM scams really that stupid or are they aware how much of a scam it is and just don't care because they want to scam people.

What are the requirements these days for getting into MLM? y the looks of all the people trying to get others to sign up on yahoo answers, I guess its only that you are A. breathing and B. willing to part with you money.

I think the only dumber people are those who actually sign up with these idiots. Are these the same people who send money because the son of some king in a foreign country emailed them directly for help?!!!?!!!? MLM is SOOO ridiculous isn't it?

I too wonder abouot MLM but desperate times call for desperate measures and worse man's greatest downfall is in fact greed. PT Barnum once said " There is a fool born every minute" he did not lie. The key to wealth is hard work, saving, and opportunity. Most never find "the " opportunity and fall prey to these borderline conmen selling a dream. Sad isn't it?

On "hard-work and saving":

I agree that hard-work is important for building wealth--indeed success only comes to people who work hard.

Perhaps I am mistaken, as I am frequently...Isn't saving a losing investment? Money is designed to lose value over time the phenomenon responsible is inflation.

The problem with saving is that it's slow and doesn't really grow your money. It just hoards it and makes people cheap and stingy. I rather like the idea of growing my own money.

Who says that MLM was easy? The reason only the "few people at the top" make "all the money" is not because they started at the top. It is a result of their hard work, not the reason. Would you agree?

Each of these MLM super stars started just like anyone else with no one in their business. Quite often they struggled really hard and failed and paid "stupidity tax" for a long time before they finally made it. They went through the same hoops that anyone else does. The only difference is that the people who feel they got scammed are the people who just expected for ti to be easy and didn't think their dream was worth all the work.

That's why the people who think they got scammed by MLM didn't do any hard work, so they never built an organisation, and because of this never were "on top" of anyone else. They didn't make money. It's a result.

A business model cannot be a scam, only people can scam. The MLM business model is used all around us. It is a simple concept based on the fact that word-of-mouth promotion is the best kind of advertising available.

Fortune 500 companies realise this and they are paying people a commission per referral they create. This is smart because it encourages the consumer to talk about their good experience with a product or service, and the company is forced to make better products and give better services in order to continue to get this kind of loyalty and earn more money.

The only difference introduced in MLM is that it rewards you a commission for indirect referrals you created. This acknowledges the fact that if you refer someone and they refer someone else, it would not have happened had you not introduced the original customer. That sounds fair to me. It is also a reason for you to train the people you refer and help them make money so you can leverage your time later.

So many people fail for the same reason that people fail at everything else in life (including the 9/10 failure rate for any new business). They only know the formula for being broke and living paycheque to paycheque. They then ask, in frustration, for advice from other people who know only the same formula for being broke.

If you want success, you better be willing to learn, and you better be willing to work for it. MLM is no different.

Many people in MLMs realize it's a scam, and are intentionally using it to take money from others. Others are so blind and trusting that you can't convince them they're in a scam.

The fact is that most MLMs make money for the handful of people at the very top, and they use this success to entice others to do it.

Thanks for the post. Maybe this will wake up people here that are being tempted to join MLMs.

I'm a Ventriloquist. That's pretty close in the amount of respect received.
