You are usually asked how fast you were going to see if you were actually paying attention to how you were/are driving. To see what kind of attitude you have. As if you're cocky or if you really care. Stuff like that. When I was working ATTITUDE said a lot on if a ticket was issued and if it were a written warning or civil infraction (fines) Oh by the way, By the way you ask this question, I sense somewhat of an attitude, SO you most likely would get a ticket.

Good point, however they ask if You knew how fast you were going, just a reminder to pay attention to your speed.

No kidding! How fast were they going? They caught up with me! Apparently here in the south you have to have a trailer to tow a boat behind your truck. They ticketed me and the skier for that one.
