What about southern Russia and the North Caucasus, which is close to Georgia? I have read that these territories are considered to be "Eurasian", but that seems like a silly term to me because technically, all of Europe and Asia is Eurasia.

I consider Georgia to be a part of Europe in terms of history. This is because of its Orthodox Christian heritage and its relations with Russia and other Christian countries. I would say the same about Armenia and Ossetia. The "trans Caucasian" region is also, historically as well as geographically, European, due to its proximity to Russia.

However, Georgia is geographically part of Asia, as it is south of the Caucasus Mountains. Presently, Georgia is closer politically to the EU and to NATO, as I understand it.

I tend to see Georgia as European, but Armenia and Azerbaijan as Asian. They are all right at the border of Europe and Asia.

In contemporary geography, Georgia is considered part of Europe, albeit its easternmost part. I don't distinguish between "geographic" Europe and "cultural" Europe. The very idea of Europe is a cultural construct! which is why most of us Europeans view Georgia part of Europe, unlike Turkey, which is an Asian culture that merely expanded into Europe.

The "Ural" mountains are the limit between Europe and Asia, so Georgia is in Europe.

I don't know about Armenia but Georgians consider themselves 200% pure oldest Eutopeans and call other nations to their east as Asians in some cases as an insult.

I agree with you. I'm not sure if I'm right but I consider that area to be European probably because of it's proximity to that area and language similarities. Regardless of continents when most people think of Asia they mostly think of anything East of India.

Difficult question. It seems, that part of the territory of Georgia is in Europe and part in Asia.
