I'm 12 but you gotta work your way up. You can't get an agent out of the blue. You have the gain experience at community theaters and school plays and stuff first. Start off by taking voice lessons. They will take you very far in the theater industry. If you have the money, take acting lessons. If you don't have the money, buy a monologue book for your age group and practice those. If you're friends/have connections with any good actors that will judge you honestly and give you constructive criticism, perform the monologues for them. It will be like an acting coach, sorta. Also, you might want to take a dance class or get a dance DVD (jazz, ballet etc). Perform at local theaters a smuch as humanly possible to build up your resume'.

After you've gotten head shots and built up your resume' then look around on the web for an agent. If the agent wants to charge you any fees upfront before he/she gets you any work, RUN AWAY! They're a scam. Agents DO NOT cost a PENNY upfront. Their job is to find YOU work, and whatever amount of money you earn, they will take about 10%. If it's outrageously above 10%, then RUN AWAY! Moving on, come prepared to your interview with your agent! Once you get to this point, THEN ask another question on Y!A for furthur instruction. Keep working on the stuff I told you, and you'll be on your way to the top. Good luck!

Hi,

this question comes up multiple times daily. If you do a search here on answers you will see other answers to this question. I answer this question a lot and so instead of writing the same or similar answers, I have created a 28-page ebooklet that answers pretty thoroughly your question.
Just go to http://www.actingcareerstartup.com/acs-blog.html , sign in on the right side of the page and you can download it for free. It's called: What It Takes To Become An Actor.

The second resource you might want to have a look at is this page: http://www.actingcareerstartup.com/how_to_get_an_agent.html . It takes you through a process that I used to get two agents and a personal manager in a short period of time.

Hope this helps!

Enroll in an acting class and study for 10 to 12 years. After that time you will be ready to go on auditions.

First things first. Learn how to act. Then worry about auditions and agents and such. You won't be taken seriously otherwise.

i recomend acting classes and studing the finer points of acting. agent helps land auditions for special parts, but they take walk-ins. depends on what you want, Brodway ( work on singing and projecting voice) or movies/TV defanitly classes
