There is obviously at least one sock monster living in each household. I think mine lives in that hose that comes from the wall to the washing machine. Or is it the hose that goes from the washing machine to the wall?

There's not a single sock monster but a whole population! They bread at all the manufacturers places to make sure that every laundry machine and dryer is "equipped" with an inhabitant.

Every sock-day, the third friday of each month, they have a big get together for trading at their own sock exchanges. A big one is in Woodsock (well known for it's sock&roll), but closer to you is Sockhampton, just a bit south the coast. Not really a distance at lightning speed ;-) But make sure to bring something for trading.

Finally a sock-a-roo's advice for tricking your personal sock monster: clip the sock-pairs together, he or she (yes, there are also female monsters, and not only ones dealing in socks...) can't stand that - but don't forget to unclip them when putting them on :-)) or take one of my courses: "The correct way to jump simultaneously with both hindlegs."

Where does the sock monster live? Well, he actually lives on Sesame Street...he or rather IT has a part time gig on Sesame Street teaching all about the letter "S" as in SOCKS....

On the weekends, he goes into an interdimensional gateway caused by the spinning of your washing machine and dryer...hence, he takes them for food...

Put you socks in a nylon mess bag. Put the mess bag in the washer with the socks inside. Socks come to the top of the load on a spin cycle and wash into the outer tub on many washing machines. :o)

I think the sock monster moves from house to house and that's why so many of us are missing socks.

I think that somewhere there is a sock community where all the lone socks go to try to meet their match.
