If you mean best in terms of highest scores, then his best test score was 248 not out v Bangladesh in the 1st test in 2004. In ODIs, it was 186 v New Zealand in 1999.

Personally though I think his best innings are not always about the end scores. In tests, I think it was his knock of 116 in the 2nd test against Australia in 1999. What made it so good was that he made it against Australia, who just won the World Cup. It came off only 191 balls. Although India lost, Sachin's innings came at a time when the rest of the team was falling apart, he was the captain and he lived up to the expectations.

In ODIs, there are simply too many great innings to choose from! But I love his innings of 98 against Pakistan in the 2003 World Cup. It came off only 75 balls and he smashed 12 fours. I still remember how it exciting it was to watch, as he and Sehwag made 50 runs within the first 5 overs!

It was so fast paced, with the ball flying everywhere and a display of the real Sachin. The best part was the second over, when Shoaib was hit for 18 runs! Definitely an innings you can't forget.

Also, in 1999, Sachin made 140* v Kenya in the World Cup. What makes this innings one of the greatest is that he'd just returned to England following his dad's death and then came and hit a century. The strike rate was way over 100, and it was a mixture of emotions and excitements. You could see it meant a lot to him.

The best ODI innings of Sachin Tendulkar was 143 runs of 131 balls against Australia at Sharjah in 1997-98.in the Coco-Cola cup-Final: Nobody can forget his inning of 143 of 131 balls against arguably the number 1 team of the world. He played almost all the shots written in the textbook. He hit 9 boundaries and 5 huge sixes to finish off at 143 and the best thing about this inning has been that he was given not out on a caught behind appeal while trying to hook a short pitch ball from Damien Fleming , but he knew he was out and left the ground without any hesitation.

His Hundred in the ninety 9' international Cup against Kenya in bristol. It means with the help of no means got here against a high quality opposition bowlers yet he had purely suffered the emotional trauma of dropping his father 3 days before the tournament yet nonetheless got here returned and scored a one hundred forty off one hundred and one balls and gained it for India. If ever everyone questions his dedication for his united states of america before self this one proves how a lot of a set participant and an excellent guy he's. If for the prevalent of the bowling i'd positioned his quickfire ninety 8 off seventy 5 against Pak 03 WC because of the fact the excellent ever as Pakistan had had the mixture of world's maximum fearsome attack in Akram,Waqar and Shoaib in that tournament and he produced some amazing photographs of super high quality and with the help of his very own admission,Sachin considers it one in each and every of his superb innings in ODI format besides the actual incontrovertible fact that it wasnt one hundred.
