Good question, it's not gonna bring her back?! Perhaps they want to offer it to the perpertrators as a reward, it is uterly ridiculous there are people homeless and starving, yet they can raise £900,000 for one missing child-its sad, but loadsa kids die every day and no-one even hears about it, it says it all about the state of the world we are living in.

So far I only see the McCanns bleeding the media dry and lining their own pockets and the money is not being used on expensive holidays, meals, accommodation etc......Nothing comes cheap nowadays and the money is rising, not going down and by the way it has not brought Madeleine back and may never will. This approach is not working and they are not trying another. So it got me thinking do they care for Madeleine at all?? And why did they neglect 3 small children and the list goes on and on. I guess we will never know.

For the person who said it was to help them stay in Spain -actually they r in Portugal totally different place,but yes the money was to help pay for Madeleine's search and to fund the parent's new home there more than likely as they have decided to set up home on a more permanent basis as they "cannot face going home without Madeleine" P.s they have their own website and a daily blog by the father detailing their every move,though why we need to know how many nappy changes their tiwns have is beyond me and at nearly 3 they ought to be out of nappies by now anyway

Just as if money will solve any problem that exists today. It wont improve education, stop crime, drugs or return life but can be swindled out of honest people thinking they are doing the right thing by giving money away to anybody that says its for a good cause when the giver is too lazy to look into it first! People make their living off lazy people who are stupid!

From www.findmadeleine.com:
1.1 The full objects of the Fund are:
1.1.1 To secure the safe return to her family of Madeleine McCann who was abducted in Praia da Luz, Portugal on Thursday 3rd May 2007;
1.1.2 To procure that Madeleine’s abduction is thoroughly investigated and that her abductors, as well as those who played or play any part in assisting them, are identified and brought to justice; and
1.1.3 To provide support, including financial assistance, to Madeleine’s family.
1.2 If the above objects are fulfilled then the objects of the Foundation shall be to pursue such purposes in similar cases arising in the United Kingdom, Portugal or elsewhere.
*** This fund is a registered company because to get charitable status takes months (even years) and I would imagine that it was decided in order to det the fund up as soon as possible, they took the quickest avalable legal route.
It is usual for funds to include a clause like the one above stating that if the aims are achieved, or there is any reason for the fund to close or the trustees disband, the money will be distributed to a similar chrity or fund - in this case, possibly the NSPCC or another fund to help missing people and their families.

I would think the money has been raised to help the parents to stay out in Spain, they would have to pay some sort of rent - also what about the upkeep of their home in England - even if your not there bills have to be paid. As the parents can't be working at the moment there will be food bills and also they do have other children to buy new things for. They are also coming back to England for different family commitments and air fare will have to be paid, plus I would imagine some of it will be used to tempt someone who knows what did happen to speak out for a payment. What will happen to any surplus money after these costs have been taken out, it will be interesting to find out, perhaps the web site for her will give more details?

I knew about the fund.What I didnt know is that it dosn't have charity status and is a registered company( if my understanding is correct and please correct me if I am wrong)What my thought would be is that as a company what will happen when or if( hope the first) Maddie is found.Will the company be wound up and if so where will the money left go.
