as the source of your problems?

No. We all have problems and will always have. It's how we react to them that makes us suffer so much. We can choose the attitude we take. History has shown us plenty of people who have come through terrible problems and circumstances without becoming bitter or disillusioned. There are others whose problems are rather trivial in comparison, but who moan and groan about the state of the world and blame it for their problems.

No, I see myself as the source of my problems. It is all in your perception, how you see the world. If you perceive something to be a problem it becomes a problem. In life you always have choices -- you can see things as a problem or you can see it as an opportunity.

As a wise man said, "Don't blame the world, the world does not owe us anything, it was here first".

No. My locus of control is internal. I am in charge of my life and take responsibility for my problems. Even when the world may seem to throw obstacles in my way, I choose how I react to them.

Many blame the world and external events for their problems but this is counterproductive. It makes you a victim and means that you are helpless, unable to change your fate. It exempts you from responsibility (so it can be a tempting cop-out "It's not my fault...") but it also prevents you from having any real ownership of your life so you can never be truly happy or fulfilled.

Yes, the things that are wrong in my life (namely my job) are my own fault (I choose to work here rather than quit, look for something else that's less deplorable etc). It's up to me to take control and change the situation (but with a mortgage to pay I'm pretty cautious about giving up a steady paycheck...)

No.
I see the world as the source of problems.
I see myself as the source of MY problems.
Equally,
I see the world as the source of solution.
I see the MYSELF as the source of solutions of MY problems.
Unless, I am forced into a situation or decision..my problems are nobody Else's but mine!

I cannot see the world as a source of my problems. Because the world does not control my needs, my directions, or my goals...... Ultimately, we are the "driver" of our own destinies.... if the world controls that then we are no longer in control.

Yes, I am an outward looking person and I care about others, sometimes to the detriment of my own well being.
But we have to live in the world and relate to others. Occasionally it is my fault, but most of the time it is the people around me or people in charge who cause me problems.

No, the world, as in the planet, is an innocent party to man's misdemenures, past and present.

I take full reponsibilities for my own actions and would never blame the planet for them. I blame mankind for the problems of the planet though, myself included.

bit of both. sometimes, a foolish decision on my own part is the source of a particular woe. other times, i may fall foul of others' malice or selfishness. sometimes, it's just plain old bad luck. on the whole, though, i've a pretty happy & content life.

The problem is people's worlds are "themselves" and all the badness in it is someone Else's fault. Your right. The problem lies with us as individuals.

But the greatest problem of them all is the lack of courage to do anything about all those other so called problems.
