Some people beg or are poor because of bad luck ( sudden job loss, illness, crime victim etc), and others because they choose not to work. Because it is not possible to know the reasons for sure, and we don't want to live in a world were people starve when they suffer misfortune we offer them food or money. I once asked a stranger for gas money when I had lost my wallet with all my credit cards and money and needed gas to get home. You can never be sure that you will not need help at sometime in your life.

many of the beggers wat they do is they beg and the money they get is wasted by drinking alcohal, smacking and other illegal things. i think we should help them because we have done our part of work, its upto them how they use that money.
Sometimes we must try to know as 2 how this money is being used, but who has time. that is also the time lag which everybody faces

if you looks at it from economical pov. then it's to help iron out income inequality. If there're a lot of poor ppl in a country they are not exploiting their full working potential, and the government will have to give a lot of welfare benefits to them. Hurts the economy and hiners growth.
