or can I just pay it in modesto? Or what can I do so I dont have to go all the way to bakersfield?? Because is a 3 hour drive!

depends on how fast you were going. If it's a serious offense like over 10 or 20 mph then, you'll need to show up at the courthouse.

You can call the court in Bakersfield and ask how much the penalty is. You can pay the penalty by mail if the speed is not too ridiculous. There should be a TEL number on the ticket to ask about charges. You can also request a change of jurisdiction from Bakersfield to Modesto if you are not past due in the time to respond to the court date.

Just pay the fine and do an online traffic school to get it taken off your DMV record.
