NONONONONOthey never ask for pin. Hoax!!!

Paypal ALWAYS address you by your name, (ie, not 'dear Paypal user)never ask for a pin -no bank does.

I had a message saying 'dear paypal user, thank you for you payment of $1000.00 ...' which I had not sent. It was a complete scam, to get me to click on their link. Never click or open anything they send.

That is a Phishing email and not from Paypal. Send the entire email to spoof@paypal.com and delete the email. Never give that information to anyone. Paypal will never ask you for that information by email. Only on their site and it is secure there.

Don't fall for this scam or they will steal your identity and money!!!!

NO. Go onto the paypal site that you were on and look at the address bar... if it says https it the real deal... the "s" means a "secure site". If its not secure, dont enter ANY details.

there are a lot of these spoof e-mails out there from all sorts of people i.e. banks, and they all ask you for the same things. if in doubt contact the people who supposedly sent the e-mail and ask them if they are asking for this information before you open it. if they did not then bin the message unopened. there are some nasty people out there after your identity. best of luck.

no. most likely it's a spoof email trying ot get your account info. highlight the links they are sending you to or the pages they have and if it doesn't have "paypal.com" in their addresses, it's not legit.
