I have an HP Pavilion dv6409us with an HD display, that chipset, and windows vista.

Also does the chipset support HD DVD

Not really. You need to have a HDCP (High-Definition Content Protection) Enabled Graphics card to support HD-DVD and Blu-Ray. If you don't it will show the video in a small screen. If you maximize it white snow will show on the video. I recommend the GeForce 8600GT, but your computer is a laptop though so... it could display it through s-video or vga but thats it. That's not HD though. But for viewing actual HD videos you download or make, it will work. But when you close out of the program the pc will experience a little bit of lag. Hope this helps!

That chipset has the aging GMA 950. Here are the specs:

There is mention for HDTV support but nothing on HDMI or H.264 decoding, so I would not expect much from it.
