On the TV show "America's Got Talent," magician Kevin James performed an illusion in which he seemingly cut his assistant in half at the waist. The assistant was on the floor walking on his hands with only an upper body and no legs. How was this trick done? Unfortunately, I missed part of the trick.
My first assumption is that the assistant is actually a person who doesn't have any legs whatsoever (there are people like this), and so the assistant first appeared on a fake pair of legs which made him look like he has a whole body. Then Kevin James made it appear as though he cut his assistant in half at the waist.
I didn't see the end of the trick after he "reassembled" the assistant's top half of the body to the legs. Did the assistant walk away or something? Did the legs move?
Maybe I'm totally off-base with my take on how the trick happened, so please add your comments.

Rattlesnake, I was also very disappointed in Kevin James' last illusion. I was expecting to be blown away by his trick, but it stunk.
