Is that a typically Canadese thing to say? I had no idea. There is a great big ocean between where I live and Canada.

Actually, it is only people in Ontario that say "eh"? Ontario is the largest province in Canada but is not representative of the country.

In Quebec, we say "mais oui" which literally traslated means "but yes" or "n'est pas" " literally translated means "is not" but loosely translated would mean "eh". LOL

i would have said "that person is a canadian"
its like "that person is american"
not "that person is americanese"
but im willing to be corrected if im wrong

i have often heard it said here in the uk
and i have even said it a few times myself
