It would all depend on how high the cliff was, whether there was water beneath it, whether there was any danger behind me, what my chances of survival were if I jumped in.
If it wasn't a particularly high cliff, and there was no danger jumping into the water below and I was just scared because it was high, then I would shut my eyes and just do it.
If I was unsure about how safe it was and there was no danger behind me then I wouldn't do it.
If I had a hungry man-eating lion behind me who was eyeing me up and licking his lips laviciously (just added that word in because I like the sound of it), and if jumping off the cliff gave me a better chance of survival than facing the lion or escaping some other way, then again, I would jump.
I wouldn't jump if it would mean certain death.

Well I know you are speaking metaphorically however; I have many times stood on the edge of a cliff, even sat down on the edge thousands of feet up.
The view is beautiful, and to watch the turkey vultures and eagles flying around are really something to behold. The feeling of the wind blowing past you is great too.
I enjoy it.

I would take a running leap off of the cliff, spread my arms wide as I start to fall into the misty abyss below me, as I fall, birds fly about me, their songs captivating and mournful, time stretched out into infinity, seconds slow and become frozen in my eternal fall. I pull the cord place above my heart, and my parachute opens, kicking me upwards once more into the sapphire blue sky with whipped-cream clouds. The earth come rushing up towards me, I pull the cords and gently alight upon the ground. The adrenaline catches up with me and I fall back upon the sandy earth, and gaze up the mountain off which I just lept, my heart hammers beneath my chest, and I am happy.

This sounds like a thinly veiled question about suicide. I wouldn't recommend jumping off of a cliff, since it would be incredibly painful and you might end up ALMOST killing yourself and spending the rest of your life in pain.

If I wanted to find out what's at the bottom of that cliff, I'd take the stairs down instead!

In the immortal words of Billy Connoly (Scottish comedian) -
"All those who are thinking of committing suicide by jumping to their deaths should rather try Bungie jumping first - It´s definitley more fun and they might find something they enjoy doing."
I couldn´t agree more.

Life constantly confronts you with choices.
You take the option that seems best to you at the time
and live with the consequences.
There is no avoiding choice.
Inaction is a choice with its own consequences.
Thats just life my friend.

Is this a metaphorical cliff?
If so, then by all means, jump.
Nothing ventured, nothing gained, and needless to say that you'll always wonder what would have happened if you didn't.
Now a literal cliff...
well....
