I primarily use the travel section, Asia-Pacific, becaus eI am an AMerican living and traveling throughout Kroea among othe nations. You can tell by teh way a person answers the question whether or not they have true experience with a city/hotel/tour or not.. (some people copy & paste info from the internet)
and I usually get very helpful tips for flights and cheaper hotel rooms, or tour I did not know about.
When I answer a question, it is usually regarding Korea, helping another western person adjust to life here. I do it as a return favor to those who help me find what I need.

I trust some people on Y!A because of the same reason that makes me trust people I met.I can't read people's mind and they could lie in real life too so there's no difference between reality or virtual reality.I try to be sure about their sincerity. That's all.

Familiarity breeds contempt, people you have contact with all the time are very familiar and may have hidden agendas because of relationship. Strangers, not so much.

I don't fully trust them. I do listen to some opinions, but others I do more research on. Especially when they send a link. one person sent me a link to something totally oppisite from what the question was and I was like WTF and he was like what? thats where I get all my information. and it was some website to get free ringtones and the question was about what would be the best outfit to wear 2 a wedding.
