If you mean Italians that live in Italy, I can't say that I know that much about them.
If you mean the Italians that I was raised with then, I know all about them.
By the way, I'm 72. I have 2 grandsons and 1 granddaughter that are half Italian.
I was raised in a very diverse area.
I have two aunts, (now deceased) who married Greek immigrants. I absolutely loved my Greek Uncles. They worked hard and were very prosperous.
I dated several Italian guys, who parents were immigrants.
I have a lot of lady friends who are Italian.
When we were young, we use to clean the Catholic Church every Saturday and I took catechism.
My Step-brothers are Catholic.
I have a great deal of admiration for all my Catholic friends.
I might add that my descendants immigrated from England, Ireland, Scotland and I'm part Cherokee.
I feel so fortunate to be raised in a community that is so diverse and I see the Italians in our community to being hard working, honest people and many are very prosperous and care about the needs we have in our community.
Thanks so much for the question. It brought back good memories of our youth.
