I've been here, watching the news, reading BBC, and staying informed.
Let me rephrase my question.
What's their reasoning for associating Islam for terrorism and believing it?

Yea, well it's obvious many terrorists claim to serve Allah, and it's obvious how people make that connection. But I don't think Muslims should have to act like its fourth of july every day.

Because Al Qaida - the world's largest terrorist organization claims to be "Muslims" and "Holy Warriors" and people believe what they see, Al Qaida and their supporters are dominating the headlines with their suicide bombings, ambushes and beheadings of Muslims and non-Muslims....... There's violence in Islamic countries, innocent men and women and children are killed in the name of Islam and fighting for Islam and what people see in the media obviously gives them the Image that its all Islam to blame which is wrong....
Like other religions there are different sects in Islam as well and the Sect "Wahabi" or "Salafi" these are the people doing all this and preaching extremism and allows every form of violence to kill the people they think are evil according to their ideologies - For your Info Usama Bin Laden and most of his Al Qaida Guys are Wahabi and Salafi.... For them killing a non-muslim and a Muslim who works with them is just equal. Haven't you witnessed the beheadings in Afghanistan and Iraq? Of Muslims? I know if I am caught by Taliban or Al Qaida they'll also behead me for posting this answer here.
The Islam I have studied about and read and practice is 180 degrees opposite of what Al Qaida and the Preachers teach in Maddrassas in Pakistan.... The teachings of Prophet Mohammad pbuh... The Teachings of Islam's Saints are totally against hatred, extremism, racism, injustice and inequality.
God knows until how long will this continue to be the game and because of a bunch of craps like Al Qaida and other terrorists all the muslims will suffer being called a "Terrorist" and Islam itself suffer to be "Harsh and Unacceptable". I live in Afghanistan and believe it or not everyday i hear taliban fighters get killed i Thank God for those ignorant enemies of Islam to be cleansed and wiped out. I just wish i had the power to kick Mullah Omar's butt myself that bloody ignorant.

I am a muslim and a turkmen from Iraq-Kirkuk. Look nearly 99% of muslims are NOT TERRORIST. Nobody here who is attacking Islam And muslims by words red NOTHING about isalm religion. Read the Holly Quran completely then you will understand islam is a religion of peace, forgiveness and love. (Myself by being a Muslim red the Holly Bible completely) So please do not depend on other resource when you judge Isalm and Muslims. READ HOLLY QURAN FIRST THEN DECIDE.
FOR YOU

They make the association out of fear, and the need to understand very complicated things in simple terms.
for example, terror is caused by "hatetred of our freedoms", this is the simple reason given to a complicated issue.
The terroristist from the middle east region justify their actions as a holy thing upholding thier religion. To the extremist they are holy warriors.
This is what Bin Laden called his forces when he offered to protect Kwauit from the invading forces of Iraq back in the Bush 1.
People make the association because they have been expossed to media making this connection. and an adminstration who early on made connections between
good and evil, used religious terms like infintie justice, crusade.
People make the association because it is a simple leap to believe that the religion encourages or allows for terrorist behavior.
I don't understand the religion, i don't even know what it does and doesn't say. so don't many other people.

Although terrorists hail from all countries, the majority of large organizations that despise and target the U.S. government and it's culture are from Islamic nations.
