NOPE. The "Orthodox" Jews in Israel have been PROTESTING Their Leaders (like Ex Pres? Ariel Sharon, who to Many is considered The Son of Satan) The Protests are Against The Zionist Barbarians that Control the State of Israel, incl. Its MILITARY/Army.. These Zionists are The SAME Types who are in The MAJORITY of the Bushe Administration.. Some of these Zionists (or Fake Jews) are Scumbags like: Wolfowitz, Perle, Bolton, Zelikow, Libby*, Abrams, Armitage*, William "The Flamer" Kristol, Haass*, Feith, Wurmser, Zoellick, Frumm, etc Dispell of any thoughts of 'to sell a point of view or opinion... I'm Afraid to say that these Zionists are in FACT, the Cause of Our US Govt, being The FAILURE it Is. http://www.911stuff.com/play-4411-Illuminati_9_11.html

I believe that all the Jews are treated equally by the law.
My sister lived there for a year and she said nothing about any racism. Also my best friend's brother went to Yeshiva there for two years and he never said there was any racism, but there are divisions to do with money and which branch you are in IE Lubavitcher, Hasidim, Orthodox, Conservative, Reformed. The Reformed are thought of as pretty lax in their faith by more conservative Jews. But it's like any differences you would see between different Christian churches and they all think of each other as Jews.
Christians are OK, as long as they don't proselytize to the Jews, if they do they are looked down on and avoided. And Muslims are ok as long as they are not fundamentalists. The Palestinians I believe are stayed away from. Some of the Jews that live out in the territories have special bars on the windows of their cars because the Palestinians throw rocks at them regularly.

This is from talks with these friends and family who lived there, not from stuff in the press.

Since there were at one time Jewish families that were considered royalty (there were Kings of Israel if you remember your biblical history), I would imagine there are certain 'lines' of nobility. I was over there for about a month during a college break with an Israeli girl I'd been seeing for about a year, and I didn't notice any kind of open discrimination against sects or on racial lines. Can't say they're too comfortable around Palestinians, but I would say that's understandable.

Israel is a secular country -- religion does not determine legal status.

And yes, anyone who is Jewish has certain legal rights regardless of which sect of Judaism they belong to. Specifically the Right of Return (right to go back to Israel) and some others.

While sectarian and political maneuvering does go on between the sects, it is the same as political maneuvering in any country. It's not encoded into law.

I believe their Rabbinical Council has problems accepting members of the Reform Branch of Judaism. That's the branch which was born in the USA. The two other branches are Orthodox and Conservative. And several years ago, they finally allowed the law of return to apply to Jews from Ethiopia who were not Caucasians like those from Europe and North America.

There are no classes or legal differences between any of the citizens of the state, be they Jewish, Christian, Muslim, Ba'hai etc. The laws apply equally to everyone.

Is there racism? Of course- there are always idiots who are racist in any country and society- but the law is against this behaviour and calls for equal treatment for all.

I have been to Israel many times, as I have relatives there. And yes; all Jews are equal in Israel. Jews come in all colors, from the world over, and all are treated the same when it comes to education, job opportunities, marriage, whatever....
