And it wasn't because you committed a crime or were being arrested? Dude, I silently freaked out because I couldn't open the door on my own!

I grew up in Detroit. Some of us thought a police car was part of the mass transit system, we spent so much time in them.

Yes I have been in the back of a police car 2 times in my rather long life. The first time I was picked up for outstanding warrant in California. The police picked me up and took me to the county seat and booked me into the jail. I called my brother and he bailed me out. The ride in the back seat was not a big deal.

The second time I rode in the back of a police car was really scary! I was much older and gained about 30 lbs. So I was really cramped back there. Also, it was hot and I was winded and thought I was going to suffocate in the back. I asked the policeman to roll down the window and he did, so I relaxed.

Riding in the back of a police car is no fun and yes the back seat passengers cannot open the doors on a police car.

Yes! My friends dad is an officer and my friend and I were waiting for a bus to go to the movies. He drove past and saw us there so he did a u-turn and stopped next to us at the bus stop. He asked us what we were doing and eventually left. 30 mins later and the bus still hadn't come, and my friends dad had driven past twice to check on us. He stopped again and told us to get in, he was going to drive us. But the door was locked in the back and it took him about 5 minutes to get it open. The whole time my friend and i were standing there, next to a police car with an officer trying to open the door for us. All of the people who drove by looked so disappointed in us. It was horrible.

When I was a bit younger he came to pick my friend and i up from school in a cop car and as we were walking out he yelled over the cars loud-speaker "Christina and Bree, please approach the police vehicle, an officer is waiting to escort you to your homes. You've been very bad girls" Everyone turned and looked at us and we were mortified.

got into a job where i had to drive an unmarked "Demo" car ( the company that owned it sold cop equipment and needed a display model) for a few days. HAD A BLAST!!! I would flip on the radar just to watch the breaklights, and did not pay for food the whole time i had it!!!

I got to drive a cop car once! It was pretty neat even if all I did was move it a few feet. :) It was for this volunteer thing I did at my local police station. I would give tours of the station and what not. Then one day, they let me move a car! At 16, I was pretty excited :)

I didn't commit a crime but it was for my own safety (They Handcuffed Me).
It was really scary, no seat bealts, not comfortable, can't open the door by yourself.
