wow...some people are just plain rude on here. I actually heard that if you microwave plastics like Tupperware it can cause cancer...I've heard a lot of myths about microwaves so what's there to be rude about right? i do have a book that addresses a bunch of pregnancy myths though, and using a microwave is completely fine.

Yes. Just as safe as at any other time. (The only ways you can get hurt by a microwave are if you get electrocuted by sticking your finger in the back of it (!), overheating food and scalding yourself, or by having a faulty door seal - impossible on most new microwaves). It's just HOT food

What's more, you will find that microwave very very handy when you start weaning the kid!

And wow - I can't believe the abusive stuff on here. Did any of you people ever think that not everyone in this world understands how microwaves work and don't work. Hey you know, in some places people don't even have microwaves! Maybe not realising that is more a sign of stupidity! Have a star out of sympathy for the abuse!

In my opinion its never safe to eat anything from a microwave ever. I've never had one nor would I ever have one. I know everyone says they're safe but if it makes a difference to you and you really want to look into it, go to the website below. When I got pregnant I got so health-conscious and a friend told me about this site made by Dr. Mercola. Type in microwave and see what you find out. Hope I could help.

Yes it's safe to eat from a microwave, it's recommended that you do not stand near it when it's operating, but modern microwaves are regulated so the amount of radiation leakage is minimal. There isn't enough radiation leaked from a microwave to be concerned about.

The microwave itself is safe. It is the containers in which you heat your food that may be unsafe. Plastics, for example, break down over time. Look up plastic and microwave in a google search.

Microwaves have been around for many years and no child has been born with two heads from mom heating up a tv dinner. Just food for thought

If you are eating TV dinners, I would recommend you take the frozen food out of the plastic container and put it on a glass plate or bowl. Also, if you eat pop corn, open the bag away from your face, like by a window. Pop corn bags are lined with tephlon and the vapors are not good. And since I mentioned tephlon, make sure if you use tephlon coated cook wear that it is not scratched or chiped in anyway. eating tephlon is bad. Congrats on the baby!!

If a microwave were truly dangerous, at any stage of life, they wouldn't be approved for household use.

P.S. Don't leave metal in the microwave, as it could start a fire(or blow the machine to pieces, as it did mine), and don't dissasemble the machine for any reason. These are the only ways a microwave could be dangerous.

Microwaves are safer than UV waves, but I wouldn't be eating all my meals out of the microwave.
