I just read a census that stated people still think that Iraq started the war with us first. Which of course is not the case.
Why does America seem to be so far behind when it comes down to self-education and knowng happening in the world around you.

How is 50 cent involved?

I don't know if 50% of Americans think Iraq had something to do with 9/11, but I'd be willing to venture 50% believe because Saddam wouldn't cooperate with U.N. inspectors that led to the war in Iraq. But that's just a guess.

I lost track of how many times leading up to the invasion I heard Bush/Cheney/Condi/Rummy/etc, link Saddam and 9/11.
Whenever asked by the non-American media, why the rush to go to war with Iraq. The response was " we don't want our next 9/11 to be a mushroom cloud", in one sentence it connects Iraq, WMD's and 9/11.
That's marketing 101. Create a connection between one thing and another.

-If I buy this brand of beer, chewing gum, spray on cologne, car, chicks will think I'm hot.
-If Saddam is brown and scary, and bin Laden is brown and scary, then they're the same thing.

Celticwarrior-there is so much to correct you on, I wouldn't event know where to start.

First of all, you need to stop drinking that left coast kool aid.
The far left did spin this and told the lie enough so that the less informed believed it. Bush never blamed Iraq for 9/11.
Don't get me wrong, I can't stand Bush. He is too much of a Socialist for me and he is into this One World Govt. crap.
Saddam was paying $25,000 to families that had a member do a terrorist suicide bombing that would kill Israeli, or American people. He did have in his possesion 500 tons of enriched weapons grade uranium at one point. We know this, because the U.N. inspectors locked it up before they left Iraq. When we got there, it was gone.
He did have centrifuge equipment to make plutonium from that 500 tons of uranium.
He had and we found, mobile chemical warfare labs.
Upon invading, solders detected sarin and mustard gas in the Euphrates river. Being that these chemicals don't occur naturally, just where would they have come from?
The world is better off without him, just as we would be better off without terrorists in the world.
It would be a grave mistake to just think that if you leave these terrorists alone that they won't bother us. It is in their religion to subjugate the entire world and kill all who refuse to believe their way.
To them there are no innocents, so they are in their eyes doing allah's will by killing me, you and anyone else that isn't like them.
And believe me, the people on the far left would be on the top of their list for extermination if they had the power.
I have been around these people and the only reason I got their respect was because I stood up for myself and could kick their @ss. If I had shown weakness to these people they would not have respected me and I would have probably been killed.
You on the far left don't know what the reality is of this situation, nor do you understand who you are dealing with. These are the same peoples that invaded Spain and Sicily during the Dark Ages and murdered thousands of innocent men, women, and children. Look back at the Ottoman Empire prior to World War 1. It was not a nice bunch of people. This is the same religion and type of people, except now it is worse, because of technology.
Wake up.

In regards to the guy below named Robert K, just exactly what am I wrong on?
Everything I have stated has been of fact and not concocted by any media. I don't rely on the far left nut job blogs that claim insane stories, or make up facts just because of whatever agenda they have. If you think I am wrong and can base your argument on actual fact and have proof and not hearsay from the idiot far left then go for it and enlighten me.
If you think I am wrong about the uranium, you better check the U.N.'s own reprts. That bit of news comes directly from them The labs and centrifuge equipment he had bought from France, China, Russia and Germany and was shown on film when discovered.
Same goes for the chemicals found in the Euphrates. The news people were there when the detectors went off. It was diluted, but then it was in the river.
So what else do you want to say I am wrong about? The muslim history of what they have done? Please by all means, tell me of what you think you know. Before you do though, you better go back to school and learn and study and while you are at it, go read what the Quran says. When was the last time you in the Middle East? I have studied these peoples for decades and I have seen what they are all about slick. They are far from being peaceful and the same goes for their religion.

I don't think that, and I don't know many people who do. What really concerns me is that 37% of libs think AMERICA had something to do with 9/11.

Don't forget that Hillary Clinton and John Kerry, along with the vast majority of Congress, believed the same thing George Bush did when we invaded Iraq.

Every ME country that ever swore out against, belittled, mocked or, otherwise labeled US foreign policy as 'Emperialism' contributed to 9/11.

Saddam, while hard on terrorist acts within his own borders, was known to champion the prospect of those same terrorists acting out against the US.

That much is history. Whether directly or. indirectly, without a doubt, Saddam contributed to 9/11 and rallied behind the terrorists on that day. Inasmuch, he was just as responsible as if he had driven the planes himself.

In this country, those who incite crime are held as equally responsible as the perpetrators and he definitely fell within that category.

"50$ of americans" do not believe that iraq had something to do with 9/11.

Provide a link to back up your claim.

well, 46% of Americans somehow still believe that Iraq had something to do with the 9/11 attacks. pretty damn pathetic.

i think it's a combination of "sound bite" mentality unable to overcome the huge amount of propaganda and lies that were drummed into the average American ear during the run up to GW's Iraq fiasco and a stubborn willful "stick fingers in ears and sing lalalalala" kind of ignorance, a cowardly state of denial. no one likes to admit that they've been duped.

Do you work for military intelligence? Probably not. Once you do you'll know. You aren't going to get a legitimate answer from any news. American Public doesn't know shiit.
