What ever happened to caring? Don't we care about the future of the children? Did any generation care about the future of children? Why does skin color still matter? Why do we still fight over religion? I'm curious.

There is a universal definition of peace, but it isn't what people want. People don't want to stop hating and killing. It's good business for them despite all the suffering it causes. Most of the wars and death in the world were/are for the sake of economic interests. Skin color doesn't matter really if you look far enough back we all came from Africa and migrated from there. We fight over religion because nobody knows what is going to happen when we die and it's the biggest debate of all. Try to stay positive though...enjoy the simple pleasures and let everyone else destroy themselves. You don't have to participate in it, and neither do I. Let them have their games.

Why can't there be a universal definition of peace? Because. Humans are humans. They have different perceptions of what things are, including peace, and human nature makes people resent others that conflict with their beliefs.

In short, humans want everyone else to say that they're right, and when they don't, due to different beliefs and perceptions, conflicts ensue because fighting and saying someone else is wrong is much easier than meeting together and sorting things out peacefully.

In short, due to human nature, we suck. Plain and simple. There has never been peace, and there never will be unless for some odd reason all the minds of humans form a collective consciousness and act as one brain with many bodies. But until that time...yeah.

not sure were you live, but i would have to assume every thing is happy there, but there are allot of places on this planet that are crap and the people are miserable and for that they resent countries like the united states not mention there are thousend religions out there that just don't get along. I would say releigion is one of the biggest things that wars are fought over now days.

We all believe different things are good for our children and can't agree on what is right and what is wrong. I belong to an interfaith church where we celebrate all religions. I am more open minded to all faiths, but not everyone is...too bad.

Working on it (the formula for universal defination & agreement for peace). You can help to spread the words around :-)
1. free your heart from hatred
2. free your mind from worries
3. live simply
4. give more
5. expect less

If their was an agreement of peace, we would actually have to find something to do. Society is not so creative nor diligent.

Mankind will not have peace until it turns with trust to God's mercy.

Paraphrasing your question:

Q: "Why is everything as it is, instead of the way I'd like it to be?"

Answer: "Because that's how it is."
