In regards to the amazing popularity of television shows, movies, and so on, I find it fascinating how few people speak, openly of ghosts/spirits. Personally, I KNOW of the spirit of a deceased man, who, once, lived in my residence. Why dont I FEAR him? Simple, he has never tried to harm me. I just wonder why others FEAR the "supernatural"? Why do we FEAR what we do not understand? Why does the fleeting glimpse, of a spirit, scare most people atleast as much as having as having a gun pointed at ones face? Why do we run from un-known noises? If the deceased have not harmed a person, then WHY should the person FEAR the deceased?

Because people have seen the movie an american haunting & see that it is possible to be harmed by the dead if they wish to harm you.

I don't fear the deceased. For exercise, I walk in the local cemetery for a total of three miles a day. It is so peaceful and no-one ever bothers me. giggle! Actually, I feel like the keeper of the cemetery. I noticed if anything is out of place...tombstones, etc., as we have had it vandalized once in the last year. I don't know why people fear the deceased. Only the living can harm you if they choose to. TV is always sensationalized. People have to learn not to believe everything they see and hear. TV is just TV.

I think most people fear the unknown. Too many people close their hearts to anything that is different and feel safe in those things known. Our culture starts in very young teaching children to be afraid of those things that go bump in the night. I was lucky that my father taught me to always keep the door open and consider all things. And as you know, if you don't look around, you don't see a whole lot of things. . .

I don't fear them as I know they are there. Everyone that has died in your life time that was related to you is there in spirit. Just ask for them help and guidance re a problem and watch what happens. I say good morning to everyone I know of that has died and moved on. So start talking to them and stop being afraid.

Because an experience like that apparently shows that reality is not functioning as we expect- and anything is therefore possible. So the most common response is total panic.
