A former employer of mine who was black once told me (for no apparent reason) that he had some rather close friends who were white supremacists. Was he somehow telling the truth, or was he just hopelessly insane? :P

Interesting question. At one time I would have said, "Hell no!"
But consider the fact that there are people who suffer from self hatred. It's possible for these same people to be "sucked into" the twisted ideals of racial supremacy. And I'm quite sure that many supremacists love this and are willing to welcome them with open arms since they are willing to turn on the very people towards whom the supremacists are prejudiced. Also consider that there are many supremacists from both "sides" who are willing to work together in the "spirit of separatism".

This question reminds me of the skit Dave Chapelle did for his show. He plays a black man who is a grand wizard for the white supremist group, but does not know he's black because he himself is blind. The white racist don't know he's black because he's dressed up in those pointed bed sheets. Toooo funny you should all see it. But to answer your question. Only if the white supremacist gets an epiphany and understands that race has nothing to with quality of character. If a person could distinguish an intelectual by the color of thier skin then they are a better person then me. I look to the moral fiber of each individual. When I find one that is is hate filled, I look at that person like I would a sick friend. I do not stand on my soap box and preach at them. I stop and pray for that person. Some out there in the real world are sicker than others. I don't know if you meant to provoke such thoughts but I am glad you did. When I come to the end of my time and God tell me you have touch many in your life and here are the results. I want God to say your finger prints are in all the right areas. Thank you and God bless.

If interracial dating is possible then being friends should be :P I think the main factor would be your specific situation though, if you hang out with a load of black people, work with black people and live in an area which is predominately black then of course it would be unlikely for you to have white friends. Similarly culture, some people might find it intimidating or find it difficult to identify with you if you have the stereotypical American 'black' behavior or whatever. Then again, others may not. People don't go out looking for specific friends, they just stumble across them.

The answer is no. White supremacists don't believe in commingling. So a friendship with a black man would be entirely out of character. I think your boss was either lying, or joking about his friends.

Yes, it is. Some supremacists do differentiate between educated blk ppl and ignorant blk ppl. He may know them, enter act with them but believe me they keep each other just close enough to know what the other is doing. He is not a sale out, because you never know who you are working with until you befriend them.

Spread the love. I would personally mess with white supremacists for my personal enjoyment. Laugh at the clowns, they are funny.
