As far as YA is concerned.. I think only the nicest and most helpful ppl become popular here...
IRL... anyone who is rude, spiteful or domineering in attempt to become popular, may succeed at first. But his or her lackeys quickly become sick of the bad treatment, and abandon that person. And then they are left out in the cold, without a friend in the world or an advocate to stand for them.
Trust me, I have seen happen. It's not the same online.

Personally I believe it's because they think they can get a rise out of some people, and this is true they can because many people are so easily offended. I am not easily offended and could not care less about those types and their ridiculous questions, I'm not that desperate for the two points!

They are truly spiteful or actually think they are auditioning to be a shock-jock on the local public-access radio station.
